The above times are a guide line to help you plan your event.
Kromdraai in Muldersdrift area , Hartebeespoort Dam, and Vaal River areas are very risky for my birds, and I am unable to release them from these area.
GAME RESERVE AREAS / NATURE RESERVES __ Unfortunately, I am unable to release my birds in these areas. In the reserves there are many birds of prey (understandable) and I am not prepared to take the chance of loosing my white doves to them. Being so white, they are obvious target for the birds of prey and have no problem catching them. The safety of my birds is more important to me than any remuneration which I might receive from a release. I am very sorry.
OUR POLICY
++++++++
I do not release my white doves at night, inside buildings, or within 2 hours of sunset. My doves must have enough time to fly home and get comfortably settled before dark.
Flying Memories will not release the White Doves for "Acts of God" such as bad weather, thunderstorms, high winds, heavy rain or other adverse situations, we reserve the right to cancel the dove release. I hope you understand the situation that I could be in, but it is a very rare occurrence.
Flying Memories cannot release the White Doves if there is any danger of Birds of Prey in the area, and if there are a "multitude" of overhead wires i.e. telephone / electrical wires etc. Both of these items will be checked in advance before the event takes place.
Flying memories maintain only healthy, permanently banded white racing pigeons, which are trained to return home after your special event. All the Doves are in peak condition. They are fed on a mixed diet of corn and minerals to ensure the best possible condition.
Many months of training go into preparing the Doves for release so that they can fly safely back to their lofts.
I have high professional standards in the operation of my business and knowledge of animal husbandry as it relates to my birds.
I ensure that appropriate attire is worn for all events and I will be at the venue 1 hour before the time. |
